January 2002 |
The concept of cord blood banking was inspired by Dr K.Y. Then with support by group of professionals, doctors and investors.
Much effort was made in the planning of the state-of-the-art cord blood processing and storage labs. Besides that, sourcing of the right equipments and experienced lab personnel was a big challenge in this industry. |

CryoCord is awarded MSC Status by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC). |

2003 |
CryoCord started with only 3 staff in 2003 and by end 2006 CryoCord had more than 50 employees. |

April 2003 |
Sales and operations commenced in April 2003.
CryoCord recorded its first storage. |

Late 2004 |
CryoCord starts to expand its service to Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei and Thailand.
CryoCord receives cord blood from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, UK, France, and Hong Kong. |

2005 |
MoU signed between CryoCord and University Malaya Medical Centre, Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre, Pantai Group of Hospitals, and Universiti Sains Malaysia for the collaboration of stem cell banking and research. |

Malaysia ’s first internationally certified stem cell bank (ISO 9001:2000) |

May 2006 |
First successful dual transplant at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) using cord blood and bone marrow stem cells for sibling. |

August 2006 |
CryoCord moved its HQ to Petaling Jaya so as to better serve its customers, while maintaining its laboratory of storage facilities in Cyberjaya. |

CryoCord is the fastest growing stem cell bank in the region with an active presence in all major cities and towns in Malaysia.
CryoCord concentrates solely on cord blood banking. It does not store other products such as sperm, ovaries, embryos etc.
CryoCord conforms to the highest international standards in cord blood stem cells banking which in turn ensures the long term viability and quality of stem cells stored.
Awareness among public and doctors eventually becomes a challenge for us but we do believe that this concept of storing cord blood will become common among nation in near future. |
