CryoCord uses AXP® System, which has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, since 2007. The AXP System is an automated, functionally closed, and sterile system that provides safe and high quality results. It uses microprocessors and flow control optical sensors to automatically control and capture a reproducible volume of stem cell-rich buffy coat. The system is also designed to automatically capture, track, and store essential data for quality assurance and compliance with both international Current Good Tissue Practice (cGTP) and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards, while offers consistent high recovery of stem cells from umbilical cord blood (>97% recovery rate) (1). High cell recovery rate translates to higher cell count with an excellent chance of increased cell viability. Additionally, the world’s largest non-profit public cord blood bank, New York Blood Centre, has been using the AXP System to process cord blood units.(2)
